1. Harry Potter (Panda's version) Featuring Janet Hayden - Chapter 9

Anna says:
Hey! What’s with your personal message???

Anna is Janet’s best friend from school. Janet shared all her secrets with her.

Anna says:
What’s muggle anyway?

Janet says:
It does not really matters now.

Anna says:
Is something bothering you?

Janet says:
Not really.

Although Anna van der Walt is Janet’s best friend but she could not just blurt out the whole “I’m a witch and I don’t belong here” story. That is something even best friends find it hard to share.

Anna says:
There must be something. Is it about the scholarship thing? You are worried about the interview aren’t you? Don’t you worry, you’ll be alright. I bet you will.

Janet says:
Thanks.

Janet is still struggling about whether to tell Anna or not. The whole magic thing is too big for her, she got to find someone to share it with her since her parents aren’t keen on talking about it.

Anna says:
Are you alright there?

Janet says:
Yes. I’m ok.

Janet took a deep breathe and continue typing.

Janet says:
Do you believe in magic?

Anna says:
Magic? You mean those making a rabbit appear from the hat magic? I use to though but now I know there is always a trick behind it. That is why they are called magic tricks. Why do you ask?

Janet says:
No, not that magic. I mean magic powers, like witches and spells and stuff.

Anna says:
Fairy tale magic? I actually do believe in those. Between you and me, I always believe that these things exist somewhere maybe we just can’t see it.

Just as Janet was going to continue typing, there was a knock on the door.

“Who’s there?”

“It’s me. I thought you might be hungry. So I brought some pizzas up for you. Can I come in?” Emily answered behind the door.

“Ok, the door is not locked.” While answering Janet’s fingers worked themselves quickly on her keyboard.

Janet says:
Hey, chat later. Sorry, mommy biz. See u, bye!

After she finish typing, Janet quickly hit the log off button and jumped onto her bed pretending that she is busy reading the book she randomly grabbed under her bed.

Emily walks into her daughter’s bedroom and puts down the plate on her study table. She caught a glimpse of Janet’s personal message before the account was logged out. Then she saw the list of Hogwarts supplies on the table, Emily thought, “Maybe I should let her make her own decision.”

Janet continues flipping through the pages of her book so that she could be distracted from her mother’s presence.

Emily walks over to Janet’s bed and sits down beside her. “You really want to go to Hogwarts, do you?”

“I… Eh… not really. I’m ok, I’ll get over it. It’s not that Hogwarts us my one and only option, isn’t it? I have a scholarship waiting for me in Queen Anne's so I guess it won’t be any difference. Don’t worry, mom.” Janet stares blankly onto her book avoiding her mother’s eyes. It is not hard to tell that she is lying.

And, of course, Emily would not fall for what her daughter have said either. “You know what? I’ll tell you about my life and your dad’s in the magical world. After that, it’s up to you to decide whether you would lke to stick around here or go to Hogwarts.”
