The Life of Orphans - Chapter 35

That night,

In Zax's room (school),

Zax: You were always smart. Can't you think of anything?

Cyndi: You come up to me all of a sudden and ask me to think about an excuse
for breaking up with me, and you want a good one?

Zax: Uh-huh.

Cyndi: Just say I dumped you.

Zax: Reason?

Cyndi: Since I’m the one dumping you, you won't know the reason so just say you
don't know.

Zax: It's better to put you at fault.

Cyndi: Hah! I'm not going to be the bad guy here. Think yourself then.

Zax: Ok, ok, fine. I'm the bad guy.

Cyndi: Since you are the bad guy, then everything is simple. Just say you liked
another girl.

Zax: You know how much my dad likes you. He'll kill me if I say that!

Cyndi: Maybe he will like Rainie more?

Zax: That's just a maybe.

Cyndi: But I want to sleep.

Zax: Sleep all you want after helping me think of something.

Cyndi: Sigh. (Yawns) Some friend I have.

The next morning,

Cyndi ended up sleeping in Zax's room all night.

Cyndi woke up and saw Zax sleeping on the chair.

Cyndi: why am I here? Oh yeah, he pulled me in here to help think for
ideas. Sigh. I'll just go change now.

She opened the door and met someone ....

Sam: Cyndi?

Cyndi: Uh? Oh, Good morning, Sam.

Sam: You just came out from Zax's room.

Cyndi: Yeah. Oh no! It's not what you are thinking.

Tony: What thing?

Cyndi: [Oh no, not another one]

Tony: Cyndi! What are you doing here in your pajamas? Don't tell me... (Eyed
Zax's room)

Cyndi: No! Nothing happened!

Tony: Come on, it's ok. We can accept.

Cyndi: No, no, no. Urgh! Never mind. I'll go change first.

After Cyndi ran off,

Tony: Our little Cyndi is getting older now.

Sam: ...

Tony: Hello?

Sam: Huh? What?

Tony: What your problem?

Sam: Nothing. I'm not hungry now. I’ll skip breakfast. You go along without me.
(Walk back to his room)

Tony: Ok. Weird. Now... I’ll go wake Jason.

Sam walked back to his room,

Sam: Why am I acting like this? Do I really have feelings for her?

The Life of Orphans - Chapter 34

On the volleyball tournament day,

Zax: I know you'll win.

Rainie: I sure hope so.

Zax: You will after all the hard work you did the past few days.

Rainie: Well, I guess so. Wish me luck.

Zax: Good luck.

After the tournament,

Zax: Haha. See I told you so.

Rainie: (smiles) I guess so.

Zax: Can I have a look?

Rainie: Sure (hand over the trophy)

Zax: (instead of the trophy, Zax grabbed her hand) There's something I always
wanted to say.

Rainie: Uh?

Zax: From the first day I met you, I think I have fallen for you.

Rainie: (stunned for words)

Zax: So, could you spare me a chance?

Rainie: I... I... don't know.

Zax: Is that a yes or a no?

Rainie: Umm....

The tournament was over and all the spectators have gone, Rainie's teammates went to the nearby restaurant to celebrate.

Zax: There's no one here. You don't have to be shy.

Rainie: I... (Nodded)

Zax: You nodded? Is that a yes?

Rainie: (nod again)

Zax: Another nod that means yes! Yes!

Rainie: Shh... Not so loud.

Zax: Who cares, there's no one here.

Rainie: Umm... Can I say something?

Zax: Huh? Anything.

Rainie: I'm kind of hungry right now.

Zax: Oh. I'm sorry. Are you going to eat with your friends?

Rainie: They can do without me.

Zax: Ok. I know there's a restaurant with good food.
