1. Harry Potter (Panda's version) -Featuring Janet Hayden - Chapter 1

It was a very pleasant evening in Cherry Lane, Janet Hayden was walking home from school humming a happy tune, and it seems that nothing will spoil her merry mood today. But, what she didn’t know was something will happen today and it will change her life from then.
“Mum, I’m home! What are we having for dinner today?”
“We are ordering pizza today. We were just back from your dad’s medical check up.”
“Ok, where’s dad? I have something to show you.”
“He’s upstairs. What is that you want to show us?”
“It’s a surprise. I’ll go get dad.” Janet answered while rushing upstairs to call her father.
There was a sudden rustle at the window, Janet took a glimpse at the source of the sound and yelled, “MOM! There’s an owl at our window!”
Emily Hayden looked at the owl as if it’s really normal for an owl to perch on the windowsill. She opens the window and unties an envelope from the owl’s leg and patted the owl as it took off.
“What’s that?” Janet eyed the envelope suspiciously not leaving the stairs fearing that the owl might fly in if the window is still open.
“Oh, it’s nothing important.” Mrs. Hayden answered without even opening the envelope and pocketed it straight away.
“Why is it sent by an owl? That’s so weird.”
“I don’t know. Why don’t you go get your dad and show us your surprise?”
Just then, the postman arrived and slipped a yellow envelope through the letter slot on the door but Mrs. Hayden picked it up immediately and pocketed it as well without even looking at it.
“Who is it for?”
“Me.”
“Ok. I’ll go get dad.”
Janet knocked and opens the door of her father’s study room.
“Dad? Are you busy?”
“Not really. I’ll just have to process these orders and send it to the warehouse.” David Hayden works at home as an online shopping dealer, his health conditions had made him impossible to get a job outside.
Suddenly, Janet noticed another owl perching on the window behind her father.
“Dad, there’s an owl. Behind you.”
“Oh, not to worry. It won’t hurt you.” He got to the window and unties the envelope attached on the leg of the owl. Mr. Hayden’s attitude is exactly the same as his wife as if owls carrying post are as normal as the postman.
“Is that a letter?” Janet asked, eying the envelope.
“This?” Mr. Hayden answered as though he just noticed that Janet seen the envelope and quickly pocket it. “Nothing important. Just some bills.”
“What place will send bills through an owl?”
“Maybe they are trying something different. So what are you up to?” trying to change the topic to distract Janet from the envelope.
“Oh, that. I’ve just got a scholarship for Queen Anne's School,” Sounding not as excited as she was before after seeing 2 owls and the weird acts of her parents.
“Are you serious?”
“Yeah, Ms. Furton said that my chances are high.”
“Wow, well done. That’s my girl,” Mr Hayden cheered happily for his daughter.
Just then, an owl swooped into the room through the opened window and dropped something on Janet’s hand. It flew out before Janet could scream.
“What! Why are there owls in our area? Aren’t they supposed to be in zoos? And what is this?” Holding up the envelope in her hands and her eyes widen while looking at the receiver’s name. “It’s for me,” she said as her hands are trembling while opening the envelope....
